I have zero accuracy issues with my 77/22 magum, nor is the trigger heavy - but heavy 77/22 triggers can be worked on, to advantage:

(NOT as a first-time effort, BTW)

My 77/22 Stainless/synthetic is a superbly accurate little rifle as the blued/walnut one that a friend's dad had many years ago. Both in .22LR and are from the early 90s.

When I bought mine, the trigger weight was something around 8.5lbs but very clean so I just scrounged up a lighter spring and it's now somewhere around 3.5lbs
I would've gone lighter, but this is my winter cottontail rifle so it gets used with gloves quite a bit.

Since mine is just a hunting rifle, I haven't had the urge to upgrade the barrel to a match-grade in either sporter- or varmint-weight. I have shot a 77/22 .22LR with the Shilen sporter weight barrel and it will outshoot my stocker if fed match ammo...if just using regular .22LR, the accuracy upgrade isn't as noticable.

There are several aftermarket trigger/sear or just sear packages available but I haven't had any experience with em.
