Thinking of picking up a Ruger 77/no scope 22/250 guy wants 300$,which sounds fair, exc condition...Is that a 1/14 barrel?? What gr .22 bullet would be best-real life experience.not silly chart.,,,I happen to have a lot of 45-52gr bullets that were given to me and I probably have the powder...And I have a spare scope and I'm bored.

1/14 twist? Nice rifle at a great price Zant. I have a Remington 700 in .223 with a 1/12 twist rate and I don't have a clue as to what bullet weight works best in 1/12. I have lots of 55 gr. bullets too.

My 1:14 700 vrmnt likes 55 grn soft points best. I dont reload the 22-250 so dont know about any of the heavier bullets. Mine doesn't do well with 45grners or many explosive designs. Seems to do better with PPU than any other - they say for deer on the box but I dont use it for deer. I have too many better choices for deer. PPU loads 55 fmj for 22-250 but I havent tried em. I went through allot of differant type boxes of ammo before finding out that ppu works for it. Paying allot for high end factory ammo doesnt mean it will shoot well.
