I have an IJ 38 s&w Thank you to hrf who informed me it was made in 1913!:D
I would just like to confirm that it is a third model and safe for modern ammo I would like to avoid hurting myself or the gun.

Yes , It is a third model, Iver Johnson went to Smokeless frame in 1909, your firearm was manufactured in 1913, If it is in good mechanical condition then it would be safe to fire modern S&W ammo in it. If there are any doubts, take it to a guns smith and have it checked for safety.
