Hey guys, I just acquired a firearm from a family member and looking for some info about it. I can't seem to find this exact model in my research. As the title says, it is a model 24S-A. I am curious as to when it was likely manufactured and if this model has any unique history. I have no intention of selling, but an estimated retail price would be nice to know as well. Thanks.

24S-A is also known as the Trappers Model. (Don't know if that is the offical name )
It is the new and "improved " Model 24 which wasn't all that good.
The price can fluctuate wildly depending on where you live.

I bought a Savage 24S-C which is a 22LR / 20 Gauge with an IC choke. I believe I bought it for $250 but it was in pretty rough shape. Here’s a before and pic from after I showed it a little live. Sounds crazy but I’m seeing them going for around $400-$450 in less than stellar shape here in Oklahoma.

gr got it exactly right. Asking prices for "standard" 22 / 20 gauge range from under $300 to north of $500. Asking prices for 22 /20 gauge Deluxe Models go as high as about $750. I have two; 22 / 20 gauge and 22 /410, both bought for about $150 each back in the 90s. Good rabbit and squirrel getters, but not fancy guns.
