OK an odd question but it has to be asked:

The magnification ring on my new VXII 3-9 50 seems stiff to me compared to other scopes.
It is not binding or grinding, just hard to turn.
It works fine also, and has that damped feel when turning it.
    Any ideas?

Some scopes do have a very snug power ring (including a couple Swifts I have and my lone VxIII too).
I personally prefer it that way since it won't get nudged around while out in the field that way. If there is no binding, I'd say that it's just got a good tight o-ring and will do a better job about keeping the elements out.
