Hello, I have been looking for a ruger m77 in a 30 06 with a short thin barrel with a laminated stock.. I bought one new back in late 80s or early 90s...if some one knows where I can find a used one I would so appreciate it...it would mean the world to me...thank you..p.s...it was a plain m77 with a short thin barrel with a laminated stock. It wasn't any thing fancy.....

It was prolly the sporter model 22 inch long, but most of the ones I have saw was in a wood stock. Was the safety on the back of reciever thumb push style? Tang safety?

I have an M77 (tang safety) in 300 Win Mag. Great rifle, mine has both a walnut (I'm guessing) and synthetic stock.

Click on the gunbroker link. It shows the pic

22 inch is the shortest factory length they came out with in what your describing. Unless it was cut off an recrowned by a gunsmith

No. But it looks just like that but it had a laminated stock..I swore the barrel length was 18 or 20 inches long...I bought it in. 1991 or 2

Magtop id be happy to take a pic. Right now the Alabama/Clemson game is on so it'll have to wait a bit. I gotta think the barrel is a lot longer than 20". I'll also look in my book for the year it was made. Also, it's buried in the back of my safe.
