I have a Browning 16 gauge shotgun, auto 5? The safety is one that pushes forward to release and backward to engage. The number at the bottom near the trigger is X21657. I believe this is the serial number. Any idea when it was made? The barrell says that it was Belgium made.

Your Belgian Browning Auto-5 was manufactured in the latter part of the year 1948.
