dang, the loading levers don't stay up very well!

I've only got a cheapie .36 cap and ball from Cabela's, those look a lot better quality other than the load lever issue.

Get 'em Josey!!

The lever problem and accuracy is why I stay around 40 grains. Full loads will pop them levers down every time unless you tie them up like the old rangers used to do.

And you are surprised that gun use portrayed in Hollywood isn't repeatable, or even feasible?
Hollywood and TV are the LAST places to learn proper gun use and care.
There's a reason why only 1,100 Walkers were made by Colt -- it had design faults that needed to be addressed.
The Dragoons addressed these faults, culminating in the 3rd Model Dragoon.
