It’s been raining on and off for the past couple of weeks. I was a bit concerned about having to deal with mud, but it turned out not be a problem and just a beautiful morning.

Temps in the fifties and a bit of a crosswind which seamed to temporarily move my target around but not the bullet impact. Couple of bungee cords and the targets were fine.

I’ve been working on new loads for a 38 Super and 10mm, both in 1911’s, since I’m having so much trouble finding my preferred powders. Plus, I used to shoot the 38 Super in IDPA so I loaded more for functionality and recoil than accuracy. Now I’m working on more accurate loads.

I decided to bring out the Ruger 10/22 for fun. Always happy with the results.

Man you really set up shop when you hit the range! I'd be all worn out loading that much stuff in my p/u. Nice shooting!
Yep, it's the 4 day trips, when my family comes out, that take some set-up time.

That is some awesome shooting. I have rarely seen a 10-22 shoot that well even with match ammo. Is this a stock 10-22?

Thank you Val,
I found the stock at a gun show and decided to build a 10/22 for it. Used a stock Ruger 10/22 receiver, nothing inside the receiver is stock and I think it's a Green Mountain bull barrel. It is wearing a BSA scope.

We all have that one gun that just works - no rhyme or reason, it's just shoots great. Just lucked out with this Ruger build.
I have a factory stock Marlin 60 22LR that for some reason, can't miss ... And I know it's not me. We used to shoot at clay pigeons placed on a hillside and every time someone would say that I missed, we would walk out and find an "un-broken" bird with a 22 cal hole in the middle of it.

In that bottom picture I see one weapon pointed the wrong way.
Actually, the other 12 firearms were pointed the wrong way. I was the only safe one in the bunch. ;)

I see that the bolt is back and kinda remember that I was inspecting the bore with a scope - needed the shade to see the screen. Pretty sure I ended up having to use the gun rack you can see in the first picture to get enough shade to use the bore scope.
What I just noticed, in the first picture, is that my 22 Hornet Revolver is the closest firearm being shot and in the second picture, again it is the closest one being shot. Ironically, the Ruger 10/22 discussed in this post is captured in those pictures from 2017.

I was looking at their barrels. I was going to get a Shaw barrel for mine but I may change my mind after seeing your groups.

You might also consider a Volquartsen barrel.

Yes it sure has been raining and even snowing all around Nevada hasn’t it.I’ve been in Pioche and Ely over the last 3 days.Just for fun.
Looks like you and your family had some great shooting fun.
Stopped by the Lincoln County Museum and the train museum in Ely.Old Western trains and old guns are cool. Also, stopped by the local Cal ranch and got 4 -100 count packages of small pistol primers, the last ones on the shelf.
