Hello all, This will be my first post with many more to come.

My question is I have a .410 single shot I got in a trade last week and wanted quality ammo to put thru it so I bought some PDX1 3 Inch shells from my local gun shop I always shop at the same place and Ill talk more on that but the shotgun has a full choke and I don't want it to blow up because I bought the wrong ammo....

If your gun is chambered for 2 1/2" 410s, then shooting 3" in it would be a bad thing. But I think all 410s made in the last 50 years or so have been chambered for 3", so that should not be a problem.

If you're worried about "shooting slugs through a full choke will blow it up", that's an old wive's tale. It won't hurt the gun.

If you have another worry - what is it? Whatever it is, we can probably alleve it.

Well, in Japanese Arisaka collecting, we often find rifles w/mis-matched bolts. Therefore questionable bolt headspace. Common practice when in doubt is to tie the gun down to something (Old tire works well) and fire it w/a string tied to the trigger.

Try the Modified Brenneke Silver Slugs. They are made of harder lead, and have the most weight for .410 slugs, giving the most penetration. But do try the other brands out there. You will find that one brand will be more accurate than any of the other brands in your gun.

...while standing behind a tree, and with a piece of carpet or a 'resistant' vest laying over the action.

I did the string / tree thing with a chinese 762.54r carbone.. felt a lil loose.. didn't chance it.

actually fired fine in practice.

bacck when i first started relaoding.. my first round I loaded into my bolt gun and layed my BP vest over the action with the trauma plate shielding my face just in case.. :)
