Can anyone help me id this single shot falling block firearm? it is approximately .50 cal, has an outside hammer, and a most unusual 28" folding bayonet. the barrel is smoothbore, centerfire. there does not appear to be any markings on the weapon whatsoever. sorry about the small size of the images.

    Welcome to the forum.
Wish I could help you. Are there any markings on the gun?

Looks like a 1869 Peabody, possibly a .50-60 rimfire. The pics are too small to say for sure. Check the left side of the receiver with a magnifier glass, there should be some writing and patent dates there.
