Currently having a clear out and sorting the wheat from the chaff. I am of an age that if I do not sort out the junk my son will skip most of it when I pass! A thread stsrted yesterday on sniders and I have been thinking of shooting one of mine. However, one of the junkers is something I know nothing of, other than it was in a job lot of spares I bought at auction some 20 years ago and was placed in my loft for another day. The lock is American, dated 1864, stamped US Colts Pat, etc. The action has no finish but is early and has had little use, crisp action. The calibre is 577, lands present and in shootable condition. What I wish to know is where the conversion was carried out and I attach a photo of the underside of the snider action. I thought Belgium (if not sure, a good place to start) but Belgian marks are well documented and I have not seen this stamp. Anyone any ideas?

I believe you are correct. Was concentrating on the DAF with crown mark and was thinking Nordic, possibly Denmark but it does appear to be the Sweedish Husqvarna cartouche. This rifle must have had an interesting life. It has brass furniture and the butt had a roundel let in. Someone sanded it down but the brass butt plate still has unit markings.
