Over new yrs break son inlaw and myself did some range work.
I took my rifle I use for Coyotes, an AR in a .223/5.56
Shot this group at 200yds from a bench using the bipods
    1/8 ROT barrel
    Hyper Touch Trigger
    Free float tube forearm
    Nikon 4x16 bdc 600
77gr SMK over 8208XBR To which I can't recall exact powder charge without refering to my notes. But IIRC it was like 24.2

I do ok once in a while.. my problem right now. I'm having issues with my fingertips and nerves. My hands feel like I slapped a brick wall. The issue stems from all the steroids the Drs shot me up with during treatment.. talking with them it may never go away ughhh

Oh man....sure hope it goes away. We've become all too familiar with that phrase..."it may never go away".

As long as you have it you're still on the right-side of the grass.;) Mighty fine shooting for 200 yards, Jeff.

2" at 200 yards is MOA. The group in the picture looks to be well under that. Fine shootin' sir.;)

No not my first attempt.. I do a lot of rimfire 22LR .. probably more than anything else..
Been shooting bench since age 10.
I can get to 800yds on my range and 400 at the club range. This time of yr the club range is more comfortable with shelters at the shooting line.

I don't do very well past 400. But on occassion can ring my 800yd gong with my .308
I have always heard people say practice makes perfect.
The ole boy who tutored me in this some 40yrs ago always said practice does not make perfect! Perfect practice makes perfect.
And that rings true to this day.

Now if the nerves would just settle down in my fingers
