I have an older Rossi (circa 1996) that I'm trying to put a value on.

Its a Model 971 VRC 2.5" .357 Mag. It had the adjustable sights, ported barrel and is stainless steel. Its a 6 shooter as well! The overall fit and finish is near mint. It has no visible signs of wear and has had maybe 50 rounds through it since it was bought in 1997. My local gunsmiths say they cant believe its a Rossi. It shoots better than my gunsmiths 2.5" 686+, well at least he claimed.

I will try to attach a stock photo until I get a good picture of it. I am wondering what how much its worth, I had considered trading it since it doesn't get used much.

In Alabama a new blued Rossi .357 sells for around $379 + tax. This one is a lot better made imho so what should I realistically look to get out of a sale or trade?

For anyone out there still wondering a value... I sold it to a local gunshop and he sold it it for $375. This gun was 99% almost lnib.
Hope he paid you at least $275. I would have put it's value around $325. I missed this thread entirely last month, sorry. I think he got absolute top dollar for it. I have a friend looking for one to replace one that is most likely destroyed by now since it was kept by the cops. ( was a gift from his father and then it got stolen and used in a crime. he tried for years to get it back and gave up )
