Plastic Cases!
I usually only pick things that can be reloaded, but I've never seen anything like this before.
Just enough brass at the head to seal the chamber, rest some kind of polymer.

I found a few of those at a range in San Jose, CA, about 20 years ago. I thought, what a novel idea to save brass........ I'm sorry I never kept them.

I found some like that in .308 one time. I picked them up but tossed them in the trash. There wasn't enough brass for me to take home for scrap.

I don't recall ever seeing any rifle brass like that. Way back in the early eighties I shot a few practice 40mm grenades through the M203 that the "brass" were made of blue plastic.

I read, somewhere on line, on a reloading forum that these were a newer military ammo. Same ballistics, but much lighter, and cheaper than all brass cases. But after that thread, the topic disappeared and dropped out of my memory....
