When you were a kid I'm sure you never listened to your parents, so here it goes. Don't buy it! You will shoot your eye out.

Trust me on this and check out black rifle arms 7.62. Piston driven with other upgrades. It shreds through all ammo

Crpdeth, I have some knowledge on this most hated round and that is pretty much the norm.
The original platform did nothing but inforce most opinions. That said, back in the late nineties I acquired a Green Label Colt in the carbine flavor in 7.62x39. After one magazine I was hooked. But sold it anyway..........hated myself every day after. Then found a Blue Label Colt in same form sans the lug. Then the hook was set. Tried many times to convert others from the mouse .22

Later I built quite a few free floated 20" M4 upper and using the full sized stock with a hydraulic buffer, albeit the carbine version works just fine too. Suppresses well too.
Never had any issues with either just wanted the few extra fps. And it delivered. You do not see much of the "bad" dirty ammo any longer so that is no longer an issue.

We continued to get sub MOA with just about all ammo run through them. Quality loaded ammo is out there along with just cheap fodder.

Never had any issues with dirty as the AR platform is designed to puke in its own mouth anyway.

Packs a hell of a lot more punch at 300yrds than the .22..........I mean really, are we still falling for that "takes two guys to carry the wounded guy" Sorry, had to through that in there.
