I've been looking for a sub compact carry gun, and, would prefer .40 cal rather than add yet another caliber to my personal inventory. Checked out a Taurus PT740 today. Looks nice. Has everything I want in a very small, slim, easily carryable handgun. Any thoughts with these from others who have them, or have fired one?

I just finished one that was shooting 6 inches low. high front sight was the blame for that but the grouping was horrible on it. The barrel lockup was rather loose and the trigger was mushy. I know some people have had good luck with Taurus but the only two models I think they are ok with are the 92 and 1911. Everything else is prone to problems bc quality control is so bad.

Thanks. That's what I'm finding in various forums regarding Taurus. Problematic products and poor customer service. Too bad.

I Carry a Glock 27 with 2 round mag extention and 4.5 lb trigger bar, it is a gen3 gun and I love it.
Very trouble free gun and it is my only Glock.
I would buy another, it is with me all the time and has taken my xdm 40 out of service with the exception of when i am traveling with a coat which is only one a year. my wife has a Smith and Wesson M&P 40 C and I Like it better than the Glock 27 and it is the same size. Both are great trouble free easy to clean easy to shoot guns. The sights on the M&P are a little better , I can shoot either with out missing a beat. They also eat every thing you feed them.

Thanks, Jerry. I've looked at the G27. It's a bit larger than the Ruger SR40c I have. I've been thinking I want to find a small, pocket carry, gun, in .40 S&W. But, maybe my issue is more with the holster. I've bought 3 different holsters now and still haven't found the right one. I've been looking at Fobus and just placed an order for a holster today. The SR40c is a great weapon and I love the way it shoots. Regardless what I end up doing, I'll keep the Ruger. Maybe Ruger will expand on their LC line and include a .40 S&W? That would be nice.

If it will stop a bad guy , its a good gun. I have shot the 24/7 and it is a good gun.
I have not shot the Ruger SR but the ones I have seen seem to run just fine.
I still have a lot of 380 on the shelf but no gun , been looking at the 380 Hell Cat looks just like the Kel Tec P3at that I gave as a gift, but I am not in a hurry.
