Since I ran into my new found love of the 1911, the draw to the Springfield Armory G.I. .45 Model & my U.S. Army background, Ive wanted to turn my S/A G.I. .45 1911-A1 into a World War Spec weapon. So far I have gotten and installed/fitted the following Mil-Spec style parts; Brown Plastic Grips, Checkered Wide Spur Hammer, Checkered Mag Catch, Checkered Thumb Safety, Checkered Trigger. All I need now to complete the transformation is to switch out the Slide Release for the checkered part. I have thought about changing the MSH, but I do like the idea of the S/A ILS so I can use it if need be. I also need to peen the rear sight so it wont fall out cause its really loose. Check out the picture.

I know some of the finish colors dont match, and the thumb safety has some wear on it but hey the parts are used and the guns gettn used. I know theres a big shiny area on the hammer but thats how it was cause I bought it used.
