The 4th of July is Independence Day. A national holiday. And most people do not have to work.

Since this year it falls on a Saturday, when most people do not have to work anyway, they officially made the celebration Friday the 3rd. This gave people who already would have it off because it was Saturday another day off.

I was not surprised that I did not get any mail yesterday. It was, after all, the official celebratory day for Independence Day, even though it was not Independence Day.

Today actually is Independence Day. The mail ran.

I had a mail delivery yesterday also. Maybe there was no mail to deliver to you? I like when that happens to me because there's no bills...

There was mail delivery here in the Phoenix area....Do you think there will ever be a time
in these rapidly changing times of modern electronics, that delivered mail will be looked on
as once the Pony Express was...My wife and I don't use credit cards and there are stores
now that I understand discourage the use of cash....Occasionally, I'd order some of those
special devices offered on TV, but that is out for they usually display the facimile of the
credit cards on the particular offers. Chief

I did not get any mail yesterday but I saw the mailman go by. If you have a priority or express mail piece, they will deliver that 365 days a year (366 on leap year).

Weird? How's this for a business plan. The Post Office no longer sorts mail in Greater Dayton, (pop. 803,000), but trucks it to Columbus for sorting and then returns it back here for delivery. 3-5 days just to get 2 blocks away.

Maybe your special and didn't get any?
Maybe I can find a way to forward my very unwanted People Magazines to you?
