Be aware that a 5/16-36 is not a standard tap that you'll find at a local store. You will most likely have to find one at a machinist supply store.

being that the modified case from hornady cost $8.00 plus shipping. If all I need is the tap, then the tap will pay for itself with the 2nd one I do. going to see machinist near me tomorrow and he is going to check it for me. He actually has a 5/16 32 in his box he found just the other day, What a coincedence!! Said he may have a #36 too. Said he's had them for yrs and has never used them. So I may get lucky.
