In the '70's I went thru my "mountain man" era. Had a tomahawk made by a feller name of Spicer. Anybody know if'n he's still alive and if so do he still make hawks?

Hello Pelicanpoop and welcome to The Firearms Forum.
So you are looking for a hand-made hawk? or no?
I have seen them in the Smoky Mountain Knife Works catalog in the past.
I like the knife catalog myself. If you haven't looked, go to...

Hey Mr. Pelican, Hope you have had a Merry Christmas. I know a guy that still makes tomahawks from hand, He made a broad head that took a 6 point deer last year. I'll get his name for you. It might take a couple days.

Thank y'all for the replies. The Spicer was a very plain hand forged tapered eye hawk with a plain hickory handle. They just had a natural balance and feel that made them throw good. Got me several little plaques with mine. Don't really know why but I would like to try throwin' again.

Hope Santy was good to each and every one of y'all. Wishin' ya a happy and SAFE New Year.

Merry Christmas Pelican old friend!

My personal Hawk is stamped "EJ3" (?), one I picked up at Friendship about 10 years ago, hand forged, tapered eye, but not sure of the actual maker...I have about 4 of them all from Friendship, all different vendors, but that one's my favorite, throws nicely...

If you are still in the market then, I'll check around at the Spring Shoot for ya...

Pelican I got an e-mail from one of my budies and he sent the following link about tomahawk by a guy named Spicer. It might lead you somewhere. Good luck.

Warpig883

ok and just where is the link?
When I opened up the ML forum and seen the tomahawk thread I thought I had opened the knife/sharp edged forum by mistake so I closed and tried again

Pelicanpoop,
Try looking at logcabinshops website or mountiantoptradingco website. They both carry H&B Forge hawks. It's an excellent hawk, and not too pricey! If you want to spend some real money and get the VERY BEST go to www.2hawks.net and check him out, someday I'm gonna buy one of his hawks. Until then I'm gonna keep beatin' the livin' daylights out of an H&B.
Talk to you soon buddy,

Nuther idea, Pelican!
Check out Coldsteel at their website .I've owned a few of their knives and I think their stuff is second to none. They now carry a number of different hawks.
Anyway, Talk to you again soon.
Your Buddy,
