A turkey shoot as described by my great grandfather. You take you're turkey and you set him up on a stump like you was going to wack his head off. you then take a large metal plate with a hole in it and you set it up so the turkeys head is sticking out. It cost a nickle per shoot, and the ranchers who set it up would use the money to help out families in need. His first turkey shoot was in 1898, Renton New Mexico. Thats my definition of a turkey shoot.

Just remember the tofu instead of fried chicken for the picnic.

Hear tell they have mighty big heads' take a pretty good sized plate, and you'de have to step back a few hundred yards. Could be done.

With out a doubt, the trick is not to tell them in tell after they eat it. They turn the funniest shade of white.

I don't know why you would want to shoot one. First, it would be a waste of powder and lead. Second, you cant eat them after they are dressed out. You cant smother it in enough, bell pepper, celery and onions and season with enough cayenne to cover the flaver of s*** even if you use a gallon of ketsup.
