Can someone please help me with the type and value oF this pistol? The only markings on it are on top of the barrel and say "CONSTRUCTED FOR ,MESSRS GYE & MONCRIEFF LONDON." The wooden grips are about 90%
with very few scratches. There looks to have ben a lanyard clip on the butt at one time. The barrel, cylinder and hammer have better bluing on them than the rest of the pistol.

I have to go with a Tranter revolver, probably .450" c.1890/1900. But without a close inspection, its hard to be sure.

It looks more like a Pryse revolver to me. Vintage 1880's. If the blue is original I would place the value at from $250 to $500

You are correct and I was wrong. Its a Webley Pryse revolver. I was thrown by the hammer tripper in the rear of the trigger guard and very similar 'bullet' shape to the front of the arbour. Both typical of the Tranter Army Revolver :)
