Nice gun, but a couple of things don't look quite right. The bluing on the barrel looks too good to be from 1937. The rest of the bluing looks right for it's age - but not the barrel. The other is the magazine tube attaching ring. It doesn't look to me to be original or fit the tube properly. From what I see it doesn't seem to support the tube at all. I'd have to see a clearer picture to be certain.

Never seen a barrel band attached to the magazine tube like that if it's attached at all, Me thinks the barrel has been replaced and the band is a design of unknown origin. ✨👽
But I'm oftenalways most ofthe time wrong. 🔇

The mag tube band is correct for a 97, they used both types. The one on Firpo's gun is a later style that carried over into the Model 12. Bluing wear on the barrel and receiver are different, but normal, different steel alloy.
Bushmaster, can you give me the serial number to check the date of manufacture, and the barrel length?
