The $18.99 muzzle brake I ordered online which I put on a couple of days ago (ok- my LGS did it for free)

Just make sure you stand behind me when I'm shooting-- not off to the side...

When I saw the slickgun.com ad for 500 rounds of Wolf Gold for $134.99 and the free shipping offer. Went there immediately and put the ammo in my basket and then looked for two more items and when I hit the place order button, the ammo was sold out!! I gotta go back and order the other two items to get some of that free shipping!

Got around to ordering some Imperial Wax today.

Received that red-dot sight I ordered a couple of weeks ago. Stuck it on the .300 blackout upper and sorta "bore sighted" it so maybe I will be able to at least hit paper next week.

Finished up the prep work for my ballistic gel test tomorrow morning. Made up some 2L bottles with red food coloring. These will be my 'failure' indicators. Basically will be shooting hornady critical defense rounds thru a gelatin block faced with denim and tshirt cloth, and a section of ribs ill grab from WalMart meat section tonight on the way home from work.

Behind the gel block will be an interior wall panel simulator ( 1/2" wall board 2x4 spaced). Begin the wallboard will be the red 2L bottles. IE, if the bullet passes thru the simulated attacker, and thru the simulated wall, and punctures one of the bottles, it could be an ammo over penetration failure.

Now, there's a difference in the bulk mass of the slug over penetrating, and perhaps a jacket fragment. That's why I used plastic bottles, not baloons. IF there is over penetration, I'd rather see a non lethal fragment than a 150gr 'core remnant' of the projectile.

We'll be eagerly waiting for your report. Are you going to use video, or just take pictures?

For sure pictures, and if either me or my buddy assisting me can figure out video off our phone to transfer to a PC, we will do that too.

The latest thread on spotting scopes mentioned a Simmons. I checked out Cabelas what there's were costing and it was on sale. Yep, got weak and bought it. It plays really good. I'll do a comparison and post later. The pix of the Harbor Freight is in the spotting scope thread. Here is the pix of the Simmons and a fantastic carry case.

Is this the Harbor Freight scope? I am going over to HF tomorrow and I am going to look at theirs. I will try to get them to let me take it outside the front door to see at a distance before I buy it!
