First of all, it's good to see someone interested in rabbit hunting. Rabbits are one of the very best eating of the small game critters. Seems like there is very little interest in rabbit hunting these days.
Second leave those two 30 round magazines at home. A 10 rounder will be just fine. If you are going to be hunting with other hunters, make sure you know where they all are before you start shooting. 22's can do some mean ricocheting off frozen ground.
Learn to shoot with both eyes open. Whether you're shooting open sights or some type of scope, it's much easier to follow your game. It's a little difficult at first to learn, but once mastered, you'll be suprised how well you can shoot moving targets.
Start with open sights. Then move on to low powered scope with the widest field of view you can get. A red dot is probably a good place to start.
The easiest running shot is the one going straight away. You'll be tempted, but don't take that shot. You'll ruin the best of the meat in the hind quarters or gut shoot the whole length of the rabbit. Either way you won't have much to eat on that rabbit.
A lot of fun and good eating lay aheld of you. Play it safe and hope you really have good luck.

    Aw...now what's wrong with a Texas Cornhole shot?? ;)
Drops deer like nothing else...especially with a Broadhead arrow...

    Big Shrek,
Hope you've got a 20 gallon barrel of water in your fanny pack if you want to eat that deer.
