What value should I put on my Marlin 39A Golden Mountie for insurance purposes. The serial number indicates it was made in 1967. I added the Williams sights.

Yep - Marlins go for 400-600 - I paid 300 for my 30-30. For insurance purposes you should put the high end value of 600-650 on it. The peep sight is an add on. In fair condition it wold only be worth about $275.

900 that way if it gets stolen lost or destroyed you can buy another one plus a sympathy gun.
Yep, you could do that too. Basically, the value that you put on it for insurance is what your REPLACEMENT value is likely to be. Definitely put it high enough but not unreasonably high.
