I really did beat her score, but not by much, I need to go to the range more often.

Tell the Mrs. Congradulations, Eric. Now just sit back and wait patiently the 60 to 90 days for your your CHL's to come in, after you send all the paper work and your $280.00 into Austin.

BlackGun - $280????????? Dang and I thought $30 was pricey for a CHL.

The class runs between $90.00 and $110.0 and the fee to The Department of Public Safety is $140.00 per person.

That's absolutely "Highway Robbery"... I thought the $25.00 fee here was tippin' the high-side?
Is that a life time CHL?

What Eric just said! Then you have to take a refresher course, which funs $45.00 for the class and of coarse the fee to the State of Texas

    Congrats to your wife loader44.

Its not the fee that bothers me in IA, only 25 for the course plus 10 for the permit, its the fact that they tell me when I can carry. Now that SUCKS.

Way to go Loader, Good job by the wife. Really that works for you too. Now you can get her that new rifle, shotgun,or pistol you have had your eye on.

    Congratulations to the wife.
I wouldn't complain to much , I figure it cost me about $325.00 to get me CCL here in Arkansas. The following was my out of pocket-
    CCL Class -$150.00
FBI Background check- $100.00 + $25.00 application fee
    License fee-$25.00
    Notary $15.00
and ammo for the range work was about $10.00- this was
5-6 years ago. To renew was a flat $25.00 and 10 minutes on the range. The class was high probably because it was held on a community college campus at that time. I think things have gotten cheaper and some of the requirements have been adjusted concerning revolvers and SA's. But that's it in a nutshell here in the Natural state. -NA
