I'm on a quest to find a rifle that was given to my father by his platoon back in was a Winchester 52B, with an ivory diamond inlay on both sides of the stock. My father passed away last fall and I was given a picture of him holding the rifle on Christmas morning 1952. He was stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington and was transferred to Fort Wainwright, Fairbanks Alaska. He shot for the 6th Army rifle team for several years. This rifle was a parting gift when he was sent to Alaska....I asked my mother what happened to the gun, she said they had to sell it to help pay for their move back to Washington in 1956. So the last known location of this rifle was Fairbanks, Ak. in 1956. I know it's a long shot, but if anyone has this rifle in their collection, I would be very anxious to obtain it. Also, if you were stationed at Fort Lewis back in 1950-1952 and knew Sgt. M.E. Tolson, I would like to talk with you. thanks for your help. Ben
ps...for what it's worth, I'm not in the picture, I was born 6 years later.
