I just aquired a Winchester Model 74 22 Short in a collection purchase. It was Mfg in 1940.The rifle would rate at 90% with excellent bore. What would this little 22 be worth? Thanks Benny

I too have a model 74 chambered for short, long or long rifle made arounf 1949. They went out of production in 1955. The book says around $150 to $175.

I have a mod 74 22 cal short. I took it out this past weekend to shoot and it only would dicharge once. The other 5 times I tried it their was a small indention in the shell just not enough to cause it to fire. Could it be the spring? and is their any difference between a spring that you would use in a long rife or a short on a model 74?
