Hello, im trying to find out ballpark value and possibly sell a 1865 Spencer Burnside Carbine. Ive done a little research and found prices to be all over the place. It is the 3 barrel rifling model, and did have the stabler cutoff at one time. Here are some pictures. Thanks for any help.

Son-of-a-gun....I did not know Burnside made them.

Casting about severl auction sites, $3,000.00 seems to be about the average.

I thought the Stabler cut off was that little nub in front of the trigger?🤔

That Spencer is in excellent shape (“bore not considered for antique firearms.”😉)

And yes, Burnside made a lot of Spencers at the same time they were making Burnsides. Spencer could not keep up with demand, especially the 1865s. I don’t think Burnside made any full length rifles though, only Spencer did.

And I haven’t specifically been checking for them at shows last year but maybe 10 years ago I handled an 1865 in about the same shape and the guy wanted $2500 for it and he said he’d negotiate..so add 10 years, I’d say the $3000 previously quoted by Sharps is darn close.
