Any help with determining the value of this . 32 Walther vet bring back with papers would be greatly appreciated. The story that I have is that my friends Grandfather took the weapon along with a camera from a German soldier. The German soldier was riding on a motorcycle with a sidecar when he came around a blind corner and right into American gunfire. I have the opportunity to buy this pistol but I am uncertain as to what a reasonable offer would be.
I don't see the standard Eagle stamping that would have been on a German Military weapon. It should be on the slide and breech of the barrel. It's possible this was a commercial Walther. There is one on *********.com right now for $900 and it has the Eagle stampings.
Can you try to take better pictures? If you search the internet Walther PP .32ACP WWII you will see the Eagle Stampings on the slide and barrel are prominent, and the stamps on this one appear very faint when compared to the rest of the stamping on the pistol.
Good close up photos assists the experts to give you the information you are looking for. A good close up looks like this: (Ref Walther P38-taken with a cell phone camera and good light)
I will get some macro shots up with some better lighting for sure. I think I may have only uploaded the thumbnail version by mistake. Thanks for the help.

Thanks and yes I will definitely post some better macro shots with better lighting as well. I think I may have uploaded my thumbnail versions by mistake. The finish on the left side of the firearm is pretty worn and has a decent amount of pitting making it pretty difficult to see any markings. Thanks for your assistance.
Attached is a picture that I just took of my P38 and you can see the small eagle to the right of the C in the serial number. It is on the opposite side of my gun as well.
