My soft heart took in a SKB XL 300. Wrecked gun. Bolt, firing pin, link broken or terminally bent, ans as usual, absolutely filthy. The action spring was 3.5 inches too short. All parts replaced, assembled, down to the last problem. When I close the gun, it seems to battery, but the hammer will not fall. The locking block appears to be fullu in the reces in the barrel extension. The Disconnect is proper, and the link is in the correct place. A slight forward assist by plastic mallet and the hammer will fall tells me the something is not quite home. What? Adjustment?

A slight forward assist to the bolt, then the hammer will drop when pulling the trigger or a slight forward assist after the trigger is pulled and the gun will drop the hammer?
