Firearm. Only one, choose wisely. What would you choose? Why?

I would want a 12 gauge shotgun. It is the perfect do all. With light loads, one can take all manners of small game and birds. With heavy loads, one can take larger animals such as turkey or use it for personal defense. With slugs, one can take most any big game animal in north America.

The 22lr crowd will put their :twocents: but don't be persuaded that a 22lr can kill a Moose a grizzly bear or a flying Bird. Or any other Large game animal in the Western United States for that matter :p
I truly believe your decision depends on where you live, We know a 22 will kill almost anything with a well placed shot behind the ear at 50 yards or less, This scenario would pertain to the Eastern woods. In the Western US. you will need more Horsepower to survive.

It would have to be a shotgun. You can do almost everything you would need a firearm for with a shotgun. The only thing bad is they are not for long range shots.

Kel-Tec PMR-30. Lots of firepower lightweight and 22 magnum is no joke.

AR-15 lower since the government considers that the firearm. Then I'd buy uppers for any calibers I wanted to shoot: .22lr to .50 Beowulf.

I’m not imaginative enough to be able to think of a scenario when I’d have only one gun. Neither the Gov’t, SHTF or full on Zombie Apocalypse would find me with only one gun.

#2 world record grizzly bear was killed with a 22 long RF!

Actually for me it would be either a 22mag or a 222 Rem and casting tools.

    Maybe something like a Chiappa M6, Over / Under, .22LR / 20 Gauge, with a 18.5" Barrel?

I never thought about a combo gun. That would be perfect one hit wonder of a gun. Good thinking!!
