Could anyone tell me the actual bore diameter and bullet diameter of a .22 rimfire, short, long, long rifle, etc? My reloading manual tells me that all the centerfire .22's from the 218 Bee up to the .220 Swift use a .224 bullet, but it of course does not mention .22 rim.
The reason I ask, is that I have an over/under survival rifle/shotgun in .22RF/.410, and I would like to rechamber the .22 barrel to .22 Hornet. I know, the firing pin will have to be moved, but I don't see that as a problem. I'm sure there is plenty of material in the breech to support the chamber, and I once saw and shot a military gun of the same style in .22 Hornet. What say y'all? Thanks Much. BW
