222 Remington. AR15 Build

So my buddy texts me today saying he wants me to build him a 222 Remington in an AR platform. So I did a little looking around and found a place that can custom build almost any barrel. So here are my questions.

What Barrel length would be recommended for effective varmit hunting to 200 Yrds?
What would be the best all around twist rate?
What gas length then?

I was thinking 18” with a 1/10 twist, and either mid or rifle length?

Doing some reading I saw that the twist rate in some rifles are 1/14”. I’m not sure how light of bullets he wants to shoot, so that would probably dictate the twist rate.

Any thoughts?

Thanks guys, I ordered the 20” barrel with a 1/10 twist. Once I get it complete I’ll send a report. The custom barrel mfg, said it was a 12-16 week lead time.

I guess I'll be 'that guy' and ask the question. Why not just stick with the .223 Remington round? It's easier to get ammo, less expensive when found, and has more velocity and energy. Unless it's just for nostalgia's sake the .222 doesn't make a lot of sense to me. (Not that it has to make sense to me! I'm just curious why one and not the other!)
I asked my buddy the same question, he already has a 222 REM Pistol, I think a T/C Contender, and wanted a 222 REM AR15 to go with it. His money, so I said. Challenge accepted!

Finally got it finished and delivered to my buddy. Shoots pretty good too. Target below is a 3 shot group after 4 shots to get it sighted in. My buddy just shot a whitetail doe in the head at 100 Yrds,

I had some issues initially with it cycling. I chose a rifle length gas system, it would not cycle at all. So I drilled out the gas port/hole in the barrel (per barrel mfg instructions), then I had to cut off about 3-4 rings on the buffer spring in order to get it cycling correctly. In retrospect it should have been a carbine length.
