I have inherited an Astra Cub 22 Short pistol.

The identifiers I have been able to locate are as follows;

Serial # 118067 is located in two places. Directly above the trigger on
the right side, and on the top directly to the right side of the rear sight.

Under the saftey switch is the letter S in a circle which according to the
chart would tell me that it is a 1948 manufacture date.

The gun is blued and has brown plastic grips. It is still boxed and has two
clips. It is in beautiful shape with no scratches or belmishes at all.

The blueing is still perfect, no pitting or rust.

They are nice little guns to shoot, a lot of fun shooting the 22 Short at lizards and tin cans. However there is very little demant for the .22 short, even a gun as well made as the Astra. Matter of fact when Colt wanted to get back into the little gun business they contracted with Astra and then stamped the guns Colt Jr. Book value is 225 in excellent, they don't even list NIB. I think NIB with the box it would go for 250-275, maybe. I purchased a Colt Junior in .22 short with two magazines a few years ago for 85 dollars, it was in 95 per cent condition. The shop was closing and it had been in the display case for three months, when it got down to 85 and I was told it would go no lower, I jumped at it, now I have a Astra and a Colt in .22 short. Perhaps others have more information on the value, plus or minus.
