I have never had a desire for a KSG 12 gauge, but I've been wanting a .410 pump for possible home defense use for a long time. I think my wife would be better using a .410 than a 12 gauge since she's a smaller frame lady.

When I saw the KSG410 announced earlier this year, I was very interested. I finally got one for $369 from PSA during a sale and quickly added a picatinny rail for an optic and sights. The reason for the rail is that the gun shoots WAYYYYY low to point of aim with the carry handle and shotgun front fiber bead sight. It has two magazine tubes and it holds 7 2.5" shells in each tube, for a possible 15 rounds of 2.5" with one in the chamber or 11 rounds of 3" with one in the chamber.

I've shot 1/5 oz. slugs and #4 bird shot out of it to get the sights dialed in so far. If nothing else, it's fun!

That's exactly what she was thinking. And a whole lot cheaper than the S&W. If Buds would just get the KSG410 in stock at the Tn store it would make my life easier.

Very Nice. I recently picked up the KSG410 and Mossberg 590 .410 for home defense for myself and the wife also

Going to the range this week to test out the Winchester PDX1 Defender rounds (3 inch and 2.5 inch ones), Hornady Critical Defense, ATI BBB Buckshot, and 000 buckshot. Also picked up some of those neon splatterburst targets. I will take some pictures of the patterns and post them here next week if you guys want

I would be interested in those results.
Back in the 80's I experimented with a stacked disc load in a .357. Depending on range, penetration wasn't much unless one went sideways, but when the discs spread out to about an inch, it imparted the full energy to what you hit.

How is the action on it. Wondering if wife would be able to handle it. I bought the Remington 870 in 20 gauge in hopes wife would be able to shoot it. She did not like it at all. Quite honestly I felt no discernible difference between the 20ga and the 12ga when it came to recoil. Congratulations on a great purchase and the price on it as very nice and affordable.

I agree with the choice of the KSG 410. For home defense i mtd a small laser the left side of the M-lok handle and a low profile light on the other side of the m-lok handle. I like the handle and did not need the expense of changing it to the picatinny rail. If I was using it for other purposes other than home defense, I would reconsider as the sights as said shoot way low and are hard to get the eye lined up.
