In PA license to carry firearm means license to carry a concealed pistol or revolver. I live in Berks County where Sheriff Weaknecht has positively affected the process and I applaud his work. Last year he became a State Representative and left the office in very able hands of Mandy Miller.
Renewals can be done online, but I choose to fill out a paper application. Old habits continue on...

I open carry in PA every single day no issues. I ain't asking permission nor am I renting my rights. Its unconstitutional and un-American. I'll pay $200 for a can but only because cans ain't in the constitution. I refuse to pay for a carry liscense. I don't care if it costs a dime.

Any cop that would arrest a non-felon whose not causing problems for simply having a gun, concealed or not, is a dirty commie. Americans are supposed to have guns.

They thought they could shake me down for $25 every few years but all they did was put a race gun on my hip instead. They could have let me have a janky pocket rocket but instead I've got them outgunned by a wide margin. I have no idea what they aim to gain by controlling concealed guns. Why pay $25 and do paperwork when you can just buy an extended mag for $25 that makes the gun too big to conceal? They should let people have their pocket rockets so that police have everyone outgunned with their duty weapons. The way it is now, you might as well grab the biggest cannon ya got. Wouldn't want anyone to mistakenly think you are concealing it, so go big or go home.

I'll conceal carry, but only once pennsylvania respects the constitution and does away with permits. Driving is a privilege but guns are a right.

One thought is that you, an average person, can access your firearm much faster if not concealed. Unless of course you carry a snub in a jacket pocket and already have a good firing grip ;)

Clearly there are some people here you just don't wanna mess with! 😂 😂 😂

The concealed carry reciprocity rules are important. Best to know them so you don't accidentally get busted for something that could have been avoided.

And yes: all gun laws are unconstitutional. But I don't go pressing my luck by standing out like a sore thumb. I'm way too pretty for prison.

I get so tired of all the states having different laws.
When I took the class for my License for Texas, there were two marksmanship tests, one with revolver and one with a pistol. Now if you took the test with a revolver, that's all you could carry, revolver. Now if you used a pistol, you could carry either one.
I can legally carry my pistol in the Police Station in Tomball, Tx.
Once inside, you are in a room about 10 X 15 feet. It has two doors and a receptionist window. Big Sign by the other door, not the one you came in, No Weapons Beyond This Point.

I was at the Sheriff's office today and got my license to carry firearms. Good for another 5 years.
I don't do concealed carry, but do sometimes keep various firearms in the car when I'm heading out to a range outing. Years ago I was doing PPC matches and Cowboy Action shooting and would take the handguns with me while making sales calls within PA, then stop at the range before heading home. I have two clubs with outdoor rifle and pistol ranges within 10 minutes of home.

In the past, I've picked my license in Wernersville and Boyertown. This time I had a paper renewal application and had a question, so figured I'd do an in-person visit at the Sheriff's office in the County Services Building. Had a short discussion with the officer behind the counter on how crime has increased in Reading since the 70s. He grew up in Reading and agreed. Seems like shootings are a daily occurrence.
In the late 70s I worked at an engineering office in downtown Reading. It's still a creepy place. Keep my head on a swivel.
