P38 Slide Marking

I have a newly acquired P38; by all indications this P38 was made in 1969 in West Germany. Serial No. 319494. It has correct proof makings for that era, i.e. Federal eagle over N, antler for Ulm, Circle dot for Walther factory stamp-military/police standards, No.4 on front sight. What is curious is the stamped or engraved Circled Swastika located on the front top of the slide. Why would Walther place a Swastika on a weapon made in 1969. Could it be that the factory used WWII era slide? Can you help with this question.

You will need pictures of that, and all the markings. Post war frames were aluminum, is yours?

What Trap said . They sell nazi /SS stamps . Might be that someone got one and either wanted it to look like WW2 era . Some people will put stamps on things to try and increase value to sell it . Again hard to tell till see the pics .

Frame is Aluminum; Slide is steel

I am pretty sure that Walther did not put any of the "embellishment" on that pistol, to include the swastika!
