Hello I'm new to this group. I was recently gifted this old Remington single shot 22 by my 90 year old uncle. I don't know the history of this rifle but I know that my uncle has had it in his possession for all of his adult life. I found a serial number on the bottom of the barrel s 269430 s. I'm including other pictures for more identifying marks. If anyone has any knowledge of these rifles or how to configure production date would be much appreciated.

"There were 498,000 made between 1901 and 1933. There isn't any record of serial numbers. In 1921 they started stamping a letter year code on the bottom of the barrel starting with "M" for 1921. The "Z" would be 1931."
