Looks righteous to me. 28 has the duller bluish grey than the other NS. Hard to tell from picture. If original $800 is not a crazy price. I have 4”ers in that condition with letters that I would want that much for. The 6” 28 is getting harder to find, still quite a few 4” to be had. You ain’t going to find nice 28s for $600 anymore. A lot of them going into custom jobs in 41, 45 & 45acp.

First thing I thought when I saw this 28 was why is the finish nicer than an original 28? Then next I wondered why the cylinder looks darker than the rest of the gun? I think it's not original and priced too high.

Cylinder has turn line. Cylinder also has nice square edges on locking notches. Recoil shield is hard to see but if gun had high round count with magnum loads it would be imprinted. I can’t tell if marks are buffing or just wiping marks in oil WD or like. How did it come out in the end as far as reblue, and other negatives ? Pictures are helpful but unless professional done the glare and shadows on surfaces don’t help much on fine calls. I can’t take pics with what I have.
Most gun pics are more like window dressing even though shot from several angles.
I buy a lot of S&W revolvers on line and have short list of what I want to see. If seller can’t provide, no sale. I don’t give allowances for plausible deniability.

There is a guy on Outdoors Trader (GA based forum) who has this S&W model 28 for sale. He is asking $880.00 for it. If anyone can tell from these pictures, is it worth the asking price

These are all of the pictures he provided.

It’s not that old so I’m not surprised that it looks good. What about the original box? It’s not a bad deal either way
