My range today, continued my luck with Savage 22LRs, I’ve never had a bad shooting one, I’ve have a couple that are exceptional and the rest are very very god. The new one is excellent, I’m very happy. I was surprised at this offering, who thought that Wal-Mart, would do a special like this. To me a Wal-Mart special is usually like, $2 off on a bag of grass seed.

I shot the Wall-Mart special again today, it shot great, it was a worthwhile purchase.
I'm not surprised you are pleased with your Savage. I have a Savage MK 11 heavy barrel .22 LR with a Boyd's stock and accu trigger I have found to be really accurate. It took about a 1/2 box (50) of ammo before it settled down and started grouping well. I'm sure it wouldn't compete with some more costly high end rifles but constant 1/2" or less 10 shot groups are not uncommon at 100 yards with off the shelf Aguilla ammunition. When the weather cooperates I have some match grade ammo I want to run through the Savage and see what it's really capable of.
I won this rifle in a raffle but I would buy it at full retail with no qualms whatsoever. Good value in a .22. It's a fun gun.

Savage and Wal-Mart seemed to have created a Savage Mk II 22LR, with a threaded tapered bull barrel, Accu-Trigger, in a bright green Boyd At-One laminated stock, with adjustable LOP butt plate and adjustable cheek riser, that comes with a cheap Weaver scope. From what I was told and read, this is a Wal-Mart special, only available from Wal-Mart stores at roughly $430.

I was driving by a more rural Wal-Mart in upstate NY, the ones that still sell rifles, unlike the city stores, they had one. I looked it over and bought it. The buying/acquiring process through Wal-Mart is a true PITA, after about 20 minutes, I left the store with it my possession.

I got home, removed the scope, set it up for open/iron sights. Hopefully I’ll get to the range in the morning, to try it out.

You found this gun for sale in NY State? I tried today to order a thumbhole stock for my Ruger 10-22 and was told Boyd's couldn't ship a thumbhole stock to NY.
I have another thread going in this room currently about this.

I was over at our local wally mart a few minutes ago. While there, I did my usual trip down to the sporting goods department. NO ammo of any kind but they had one of the green stocked Savage rifles, the cost was $423. I would have bought it if I had not spent $3200 in the past few days for a new furnace. If they still have one of them when I do get the money, I will probably end up with a new .22 rifle.

They do have layaway……. 😂😂

The Wally Mart here in Yuma has one. Looked hard at it but I really have my sights on something in 223. If it is still on the rack in a couple of weeks, I'll probably break down.

Welp, I was walking through WalMart, with ammo on my mind, I walked out with 4 boxes of Federal Auto-Match and a second Savage BVNSXP At-One. Yep, I bought a second one. I was told there are no more, what’s available is what’s available. Not really sure why, but at the time it seemed like a good idea. I really like the way the first one shoots, the thought of another one like the first, is key to the idea. You can never have enough good shooting rifles.

I got my usual early morning start, pulled through the gate at about 6 am, also as usual, not a sole in sight. The ballistic rubber wall in the indoor range was changed over the last weekend, so every lane was pristine.

Today was a Savage BVNSXP-SR At-One day, I shot both of mine, using about 600 Federal bulk (blue box) ammo.

#1 - shot very well, not a single issue

#2 - the first outing, after sighting in, it shot very well, little stiff, but it started to loosen up toward the end. Again another good shooting Savage rifle, for the herd.

Federal bulk - I know other have had issues, but over the last 3-4 months, I’ve shot close to 10,000 - 12,000 rounds with only 2 FTF, that shot the second time. The only real problem with it, I’ve had is the extraction issue with one of my CZ 457, the other CZs shoot it perfectly.

As usual, a great range day, as I was leaving at about 3-4 people were arriving to shoot trap and 2 people to shoot 9 mms in the indoor range. Today is 38*, 6 mph westerly breeze, with no snow in the near future.
