The scope rings are Stith T-3, I can't tell what the mounts are, the pic is too small, and I can't enlarge it.

Is that your rifle in the pic, or just one like it? Stith is old school, and I can't recall ever seen that type of mount. The Stith mounts for the M1917, were most often with a one piece base. There are all kinds of variations though.

 

To me the pic seems to show the base and ring as being 1-piece.

If the receiver has been contoured to a standard shape I would D&T to a modern base.

 

I think you already have an "old school" scope set-up. If you are thinking something like Weaver bases then I think that would be technically "newer old school".

For $17 Apex Gun Parts has 1-piece, 3-hole Weaver scope mounts with screws for the M1917 (see photo below) but it's gonna require drilling and tapping three new screw holes, and the existing holes will then show through, although you can put filler Allen screws in there.

I think you are probably better just leaving everything as-is unless you are experiencing poor accuracy that can actually be traced back to your existing mounts and/or rings.

Finding scope mounts for a 1917 U.S. Model of 1917 rifle will take some trial and error. When those protective ears were cut and the receiver bridge ground down there was no "standard pattern". I had the very same ptoblem trying to find scope bases for my 1917 that was altered and converted to .458 Win Mag. I ended up using two different sized Weaver bases on mine. Be patient and good luck.

 

Some of the contours were standard tho plenty of the DIY types did their own thing. Two of the common contours are the Win M70 and Rem M30, to a lesser extent I think the Rem M721 was used.

I've never seen a Stith one piece ring like that before, not sure if that was factory ring, or a one off custom. I've looked at every possibility I could think of, and can't find a ring or a mount that has the screws outboard like that.

 

I called myself looking and came up short too.

 

This is a picture of my receiver. The holes on the rear and above the s/n are the same. The hole above the U is larger.

That hole pattern has not been used in many many years, mounts that fit will only be found on the used market. I'm not sure if there was a standard hole pattern at that time amongst all the makers, you might need a specific brand of base. I would start by measuring the hole spacing from side-to-side and screw size needed. Pics with screws installed might help in your search. It looks like your receiver is contoured to match the Remington Model 30.

Once you get your dimensions try contacting the below company, they might have what you need or provide some info.

Check Ebay, but expect to have to go through many auctions to maybe find those mounts. An advanced search to only see "used" will narrow things down a lot.
I have a similar sporter 1917, but mine has typical bases with inline holes.

"used" and/or "Vintage" eliminates a lot of the newer stuff.
On the subject, anyone know what happen to Gary Fellers?, and all his stock? His website was a gold mine for finding old and rare sight parts.

 

Ditto the used or vintage category. I think the Weaver Type "B", Type "Q" and Type "U" system dates to pre-1950, they are similar to the hole pattern used here.
