So, yesterday, I had to go to the LGS to get a part to put my AR-15 back together. while I was there I saw a sweet looking Remington 7400, chambered in 30-06. I asked to see it, and if he'd take a trade for an AR-10. He said he would, and LSS, I now have a 30-06, which is a chambering that has been missing from my collection for the last 7-8 years. Scoped the barrel to check out the rifling, and is very nice. Some copper and carbon fouling, but rifling in very good shape. He offered my an additional $100, which I said I'd take in store credit, ensuring I'll be back to do business. He liked that. We both think we did ok on this one.

Congratulations and good for you. If both parties are happy, then yippy skippy! I am not a fan of the 7400, but to each their own. Just keep it very clean and well maintained.

Here in the Louisiana bottoms ... the 7400 is prized for fast up close shooting on Deer and Hogs ... to me the 30-06 is still king of the hill ...
